How do I calculate peptide syringe units?

Divide the vial content (in mcg or mg) by the amount of bacteriostatic water added (in mL) to get the concentration. Then divide your dose by the concentration to get the volume in mL. Multiply by 100 to convert to insulin syringe units on a U-100 syringe. Example: 5 mg vial + 3 mL BAC water = 1,666.7 mcg/mL. A 250 mcg dose = 0.15 mL = 15 units.

How much bacteriostatic water should I add to a peptide vial?

The standard reconstitution volume is 2–3 mL of bacteriostatic water per vial. Using 3 mL is a common default that keeps injection volumes comfortable (under 50 units on a U-100 syringe for most peptides). Use less water only if your dose would otherwise require a very large syringe draw.
